Family Business

It all started back in 1968 when my father Richard Stacey started work at a company in West Sussex Hand making Full size bricks.
He Handmade Bricks for 19 years and then in 1987 Richard turned his hand to Specialist Full Size Masonry work where working for W T Lambs he produced some stunning Hand Carvings including The Prince of Wales Feathers, he went on to use his skills to produce many intricate and sometimes very large projects, including carving the replacements for the restoration of The Great Kitchen Chimneys on Hampton Court Palace which you can see in use today.
In 1992 Richard ventured into the world of Miniature Masonry when his wife Gay (who was working in a local school) was asked if he could produce some small bricks for the children to build with.
Such was the enthusiastic response to the tiny little Real Bricks that Richard & Gay then explored the possibility of producing them to sell and this is what sowed the seed which has grown into our company today.
In 1993 Richard set up his own Business in a little Workshop near Chichester in West Sussex and started the company under his own name "RICHARD STACEY".
This is when having just left school I ( his son Andrew Stacey ) & his wife Gay joined him.
Richard & myself continued to do a lot of Full size masonry initially while the Miniature side of the business really was just an interesting sideline, but as the years passed gradually the miniature side of the business grew and I swapped to Full Time Miniature work with Richard devoting probably over half his time to the Miniature side of the business as well.
Sadly in 2015 Richard passed away after a longstanding illness, despite being forced to retire in April that same year he continued to help me out in the workshop and was still handcrafting our miniature Slate Tiles just 2 weeks before his death, a real testament of his love for his work, he just loved to be in the workshop making the products.
I took over the business in April 2015 under the new name "STACEY'S MINIATURE MASONRY" and to this day we continue to hand make all our miniature products from the Real Full size materials!
My wife Emma works in the office and answers your E-mails, Phone Calls & packs your orders and runs the Social Media, my Mum & Richard's wife Gay still works in our office checking everything meets the quality required before being packed & labelled.
We exhibit at the Three biggest shows in the UK every year , Miniatura at the NAEC Stoneleigh Coventry in March & October & Kensington Dolls House Festival in London in May.
